Benji's ideal day includes a game of fetch, a long afternoon walk finished with lounging outside watching the sun go down. Once his energy is depleted, he loves winding down on the couch or bed laying at your feet. He wants to find the perfect human to shadow throughout the day. He is content to sleep at your feet while working or assist you in any activities.

He needs someone to show him the ropes, do's and don't, and what the boundaries are. He needs a firm but soft correction otherwise he will get over stimulated and unable to correct. His fosters have learned that he enjoys his meals alone, loves collecting toys and needs a consistent routine in order to stay in a positive frame of mind. He is still a bit mouthy, and usually greets with an open and 'panting' smile.

He knows several commands -  sit, down, paw, gentle, settle, get your toy, ouch, and walk. He is extremely food motivated and will be successful with consistent training.  Benji prefers to be around his people and LOVES to be brushed.

Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.
