Winifred (aka Winnie), is an 8lb, 10 year old Chihuahua mix. Winifred  is coming out of her shell a little bit each day. It will take a while for her to get comfortable in a new home, but she is definitely worth the wait. Calm and gentle with all size and types of animals and humans, she exudes peace.

Winnie has been seen by our veterinarian and is in very good health for her age! She has a scheduled dental, spay check and small mass removal in November, so is available for foster to adopt until that takes place.

The world is still a bit scary for Winnie. When she is upset, all she wants to do is suction to your side. She is still a little fearful when we reach down to pet her or pick her up. She cowers and sometimes rolls over to expose her belly, but has never shown any aggression to our approaches.

We believe she was probably an outside dog, but has quickly started picking up on potty training. She has had a few accidents inside, but we suspect those were from fear/stress. She absolutely loves affection. She walks well on leash, with patience and encouragement. She generally just wants to be in the same room as her humans, preferably on a lap. One of her favorite spots in her foster home is her foster sister's lap while she does school and homework.
