Every now and then, we encounter a dog who just breaks our hearts. Ike was one of these. His spine and hips poked through his skin. He was was covered in mats and scabs, and the only places that weren't matted were bald! This poor little guy had been living with untreated allergies and the resulting secondary infections for who knows how long.
Safe in his foster home, he's taking meds, getting baths, and learning all about the good life. He's on the road to recovery and he is HAPPY. He peacefully co-exists with cats as well as other dogs, though he doesn't care for rowdy or rambunctious dogs.
He's housetrained, polite on leash, and rides nicely in the car. He's on the mend and is starting to grow back some of his missing hair.
We are open to a potential foster-to-adopt placement in the south bay area. Applicants would be signed up as a foster home for SVPP and would continue Ike's medical treatment (at our expense) until he is healthy, at which point they'd be able to adopt him. It's a great opportunity to bond with a new family member as you help him get healthy again!
Prior to adoption, all dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm, vaccinated (including rabies, if age appropriate) and microchipped.
